Local Missions
York Alliance encourages everyone to engage in the call from Jesus to go into the world and make disciples. We believe that this needs to be effectively done in both word and deed. People need to hear the good news about Jesus in order to respond to it, but they also need to experience the love of Christ lived out by His followers in tangible ways. At York Alliance we engage this command in a number of different ways.
Refugee Ministries
volunteer opportunities
York Alliance Church is partnering with the New American Welcome Center, part of the YMCA, to help local Haitian refugees in a variety of ways. Some of the ways you can be involved include helping with English as a Second Language classes (no experience required), sorting and organizing items in the donation center, helping with application paperwork and tax forms, etc. Contact Kim Felix at kfelix@RosesYMCA.org for more information.

York Alliance is partnering with the YMCA by providing various items for Haitian refugee families living in need in the York area. Priority items include: toiletries (adults & babies), laundry soap, blankets, coats & jackets, in-season clothing for all ages, rice & beans and cooking oil. Donations should be in good condition, and can be dropped off in the bins in the Hub at York Alliance.

Community Groups
These small, intergenerational groups exist not only to edify and encourage one another in their walk with Jesus, but to engage the world around them with the good news of the Gospel. This is one of the most tangible ways that we can live out the call to make disciples in the community around us.
Operation White Rose
This Spring event is oriented toward connecting the body of York Alliance with our home mission partners. On this serving day, the entire church is invited to connect and serve these local partners through various projects and activities. Home Mission Partners
York Alliance formally partners with the following organizations in the local community to bring the good news of Jesus into the world through a variety of tangible expressions of the Gospel. We provide financial and prayer support on a regular basis to these ministries, and we encourage individuals or groups to get involved in serving alongside of them. This is a great place to start practicing the value of living a missional lifestyle!
